چکیده

Results Early results suggest a significant increase in FOR (Redline 329.6 ± 108.8 N vs. PLB 322.9 ± 107.1 N [p= 0.015]); POW (Redline 468 ± 177 W vs. PLB 446 ± 175 W[p= 0.001]); and VEL (Redline 1.82 ± 0.18 m/s vs. PLB 1.76 ± 0.19 m/s [p=0.0035]); and a trend in the data (p<0.10) for DSP (Redline 0.92 ± 0.08 m vs. PLB 0.90 ± .10 m [p= .0665]); and RFD (Redline 529 ± 262 N/s vs. PLB 493 ± 219 N/s [p=0.0685]). Conclusions These preliminary data supported our hypothesis that muscle explosiveness in the bench throw would increase under the influence of Redline energy drink.

The effects of VIA® Instant Coffee on bench press performance: a gender comparison

Background An abundance of research is available concerning exercise and caffeine with men, but among women resistance trainers, it is scarce. We tested a highly caffeinated coffee product, Via instant coffee (VIA) vs. its decaffeinated version (DCF) on men and women. We hypothesized that VIA consumption would not benefit men greater than women (p>0.05) when comparing muscle explosiveness among...

The Mediating Effects of Caffeine Ingestion and Post-Activation Performance Enhancement on Reactive Dive Times in Goalkeepers

Background. The reactive abilities of goalkeepers are crucial and may directly impact match results. Therefore, research on factors that may enhance goalkeeper performances during diving tasks (DT) and how these factors are mediated would provide valuable information for coaches and goalkeepers. Objectives. The purpose of this investigation was to: (i) assess the impact of caffeine consumption...

Dose response effects of a caffeine-containing energy drink on muscle performance: a repeated measures design

BACKGROUND Energy drinks have become the most used caffeine-containing beverages in the sport setting. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of two doses of a caffeine-containing energy drink on muscle performance during upper- and lower-body power-load tests. METHODS In a randomized order, twelve active participants ingested 1 and 3 mg of caffeine per kg of body weight using a c...

Effects of Strength vs. Ballistic-Power Training on Throwing Performance.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of 6 weeks strength vs. ballistic-power (Power) training on shot put throwing performance in novice throwers. Seventeen novice male shot-put throwers were divided into Strength (N = 9) and Power (n = 8) groups. The following measurements were performed before and after the training period: shot put throws, jumping performance (CMJ)...

The effect of different post activation potentiation methods with and without caffeine ingestion on competitive judokas performance

Introduction and purpose: Post-activation potentiation (PAP) is the phenomenon by which muscular performance is enhanced in response to a conditioning stimulus. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of PAP induced by resisted, accelerated and traditional plyometric with and without caffeine ingestion on competitive judokas performance. Materials and Methods: In a randomized, c...
